I need help in choosing a computer?

ok i have a bit of a delema, christmas is coming soon and my mom told me she would buy me a eMac off of ebay ( i love macs and i asked) but here i am- i have a imac g3, compaq presario from like 1999 and a custom desctop pc thats slow and has major cosmetic isues (nasty white plastic turned yellow som cracks, not the best to be proud of) and so i need a lap top and a gaming machine and yes i MUST have a mac, but what to do?

bottom line:

-I am a media type person

burning dvd's cd's

watching movies

play games (sims 2, gta san andreas)

internet (bigtime! i am always on myspace, youtube, pplaylist, ect.)

school work (ms word. excel, etc.)

i also like to make websites



so now that you know me, i need help picking a workstation of computers. (i figure Core 2 Duo will be enough for my gaming and multi media)



will the eMac fit my multi media and tasking needs?

and what type of laptop should i get for my birthday? (nothing above 600 please)

The games you play don't require a highend gaming laptop I would just pick out a simple multimedia laptop that has vista on it from Best Buy or other computer stores..I need help in choosing a computer?
never buy anuthing that has "mac" or "apple" in it!
