Where and What do i need to do to get a DVD drive for my computer?

There is a game that I play that will be having an expansion soon, and they arent running/making the cd's into Disc they are coming in DVD format. My disk drive is DISC only not DVD is there something that i can buy to make it a DVD drive or both? Cheap that is?Where and What do i need to do to get a DVD drive for my computer?
There are three flavours of DVD drive



1. IDE (internal)



2. SATA (internal)



3. USB/Firewire (external)



Its easy to identify what you have. Most machines will have both IDE and SATA. IDE is long and flat and has lots of pins. SATA is smaller and looks like a slot.



If you have a cd drive in the machine already, its just a matter of seeing what the connectors are like in the back of it, then buying a drive with one or the other interface.



If your machine does not have a drive, look at the motherboard.



Another option is to buy an external drive and just plug that into your machine's USB port.

Once you have identified it, its just a matter of going to local computer shop (take the drive with you if you have one already) and getting one that matches, or, if you can see what type it is and want to buy online, tigerdirect and newegg are good, as is ebay.Where and What do i need to do to get a DVD drive for my computer?

or you can get a USB2 external that you can move from machine to machine with ease... around $100
