Transformers and pirates?

how is it potc3 came out in may, and is coming onto dvd in december, but transformers came out in july (or whenever i cant remember) but its coming onto dvd here pretty soon?

i like transformers, but i like potc better

why is it taking so much longer than transformers to come out?Transformers and pirates?
POTC3 was produced by Disney, they are always a little funny with their DVD releases. Ultimately, it is up to the studio to decide when to release the DVD, Disney is probably banking on larger DVD sales if the wait for the holidays before release.
it just depends on the publishing and stuff. i think if potc3 takes longer it means there will be a lot special features on the dvd.Transformers and pirates?
"At World's End" is a much bigger movie than transformers....

the DVD sales are going to be huge.....

they are planning to sweep the sales by offering it

on dvd just right before Christmas....

besides, it's still in theatre's in some places....
I don't think there is any specific right answer to this question. The shrinking window between theatrical release and DVD release is a major point of concern for the movie theatre industry. Having a major blockbuster like Transformers hit DVD just 15 weeks after the theatrical release is a major thing in a bad way. I don't know why Paramount decided to jump the gun so quickly.

Usually, Disney takes the longest of the major studios to get their big blockbusters on DVD. But I'm actually surprised their waiting until December 4th for Pirates 3.

If I had to take a guess about all of this, I think it's mostly about each studio wanting their film to be the only major new release that week - much the way you usually only have one major theatrical release each week. The October 16 date may just have been the best available to get the disk out in time to not miss the holiday shopping season.Transformers and pirates?
Probably POTC has more oblgations that Transformer.it's POTCremember a Disney film!! world wide distrobution has a lot todo with it!
I don't know, but I can't freakin' wait for potc to come out!!! I LOVEITLOVEITLOVEIT, and there better be a lot of deleted scenes, because I saw a trailer with something said in it that never made it into the movie!! I LOVE PIRATES!!!
It's all about money. Production companies want to maximize sales for a given movie. Once they've made all the many they think they can get form theaters, they'll then focus on merchandising and DVD sales. HD, BLUE RAY..etc,etc.

If a movie is extremely successfull in the box office they will rush the DVD release to make those last few bucks. Movies that don't do as well take a little longer to be released because they see no reason to rush producing something that might only produce some mediocre sales. Also timing plays a factor. Getting a big summer blockbuster on DVD in time for Christmas is just smart business.
Maybe because december is a peak season for dvds.

The distributor sees the benefit of holding back release times (increased sales from holiday period) outweighing the cost of it (lost sales from piracy).
I completely agree with what the other people have said about it being smart business by releasing the DVD towards Christmas. AWE will then get more money due to the fact of it. Unfortunately it's a long wait for us fellow POTC fans, but it will be well worth the wait.

I've already pre-ordered mine. :)
Because in a fight between the Kraken and Optimus Prime, Prime would win. (Actually, that's debatable).
Bcause money gets things done quicker.
