Hi :)
I have a friend who doesn't usually come over to my place...i always go to his place instead...he is coming over soon but since the last time he was here my dvd collection has grown and so i cant hide it easily unless i dont let him in my room...if he does ask to borrow a dvd how can i say no nicely...ive never lent my dvds to anyone, not even family as ive seen the way others handle discs and such and this collection is important to me...i dont feel comfortable letting others borrow them
all answers appreciated...thanks :DHow can i say no nicely to my friend about borrowing DVD from my collection?
If you never borrowed for him before than I guess you can say 'look I really do not share my DVD with anyone else! I hope you understand'. Also remember to tell him that you don't lent it to even family members and your other friends. Give him the impression that you are quite possessive of your belongings. But if you borrowed from him before than I guess you have no choice but to borrow him your DVD. Also what you can do is hide the ones you may think he will ask to borrow. Put all the crap ones at the fore front!!
Well then just say this (I know you want me to lent them to yu but you see these are my collections and I don't like antone borrowing themHow can i say no nicely to my friend about borrowing DVD from my collection?
I would say very politely, "I'm sorry but I don't let anyone borrow my dvd's not even my family. This is a special collection and I prefer to not loan them out."
Oh I completely understand!!! I hate the way other people pick up discs, maybe you should let him have it this once, inspect it upon return and make a judgment on whether to lend discs out again. How can i say no nicely to my friend about borrowing DVD from my collection?
I am the same way. I just say "I'm sorry, I don't loan out my movies but if I had a burner I would copy one off for you".
