What is the easiest way to make my Wii play Dvds? My girlfriend is coming over soon and I dont have a dvd player in my room. I have heard that there is software that you can put on it to make it play a dvd. What is this and how do i do it?! What you need to do is first install the Homebrew Channel on your Wii, and with the limited time you have, I would recommend a soft mod. This is done just by using your SD Card and Wii capabilities. You will need to go online, and find a tutorial to get the Homebrew Channel that will work with your Wii's System Firmware (found in upper right corner in Wii Settings). While installing the Homebrew Channel with the installer, you will also need to install DVDX and Bootmii.



After doing so, you will need to create at the root of your SD Card (once you click on the SD Card in My Computer) called apps. This is where the Homebrew Channel will read the applications made for it. You will need to find and download a program called MPLayer CE. You will put the program in the apps folder.



After that, go put your SD Card in your Wii, run the Homebrew Channel from the Wii Menu, and select the MPlayer CE icon. Then insert the DVD you want to watch into your Wii like a game. and select the Play option. Enjoy the movie!

The wii cant play DVDs at all. It is a very bad idea to mod the wii for many reasons. It will void your one year warranty, it is very illegal to mod the wii system, it will most likely cause glitches in your system and odds are the program that "allows DVDs to be played with the wii" probably doesn't work or will work with very little quality.What is the easiest way to make my wii play DVDs?
You could possibly use the HomeBrew channel to make it play DVDs, but Nintendo is putting out updates to kill wiis that use the HomeBrew Channel, so it's really not worth taking the risk. (Just my opinion)
