- I've seen them starting to advertise on posters "Coming soon to Blu-ray and DVD".
They did this with DVDs "Coming soon to DVD and Video"
- Today you will find a lot of special features on new releases do not get on the DVDs and that the Blu-rays get the most as well as exclusive commentaries.
- Also, most "Director's Cut" editions of films and special box sets are being only released for Blu-ray.Do You Think That Blu-rays Are On The Path Of Taking Over DVDs?
no , in fact sony released a press release about 6 months ago, detailing on how blu ray was not being adopted like they thought it would be.
Its most likely that something will come along in a couple years that will wipe out blu ray.
The consensus among consumer experts is that , consumers are getting tired of "upgrading". and only about 15% of the general population including those they consider "early adopters" upgrade to the newest technology unless its necessary.even after upgrading to a new player , most are still buying regular dvds, because of the cost, and lack of care about the extra display resolution and "extras", most people who buy a movie actually want to see the movie.
its also estimated 40% of households still have vhs machines that if they arent hooked up and being used can be quickly hooked up
They are... but we still several years away from full mainstream acceptance. Blu-ray players are still insane expensive, and so are the Blu-ray discs themselves. Plus, Blu-ray has the other hurdle of having to overcome the fact that a majority of people have not switched over to HDTV yet (though the number is growing). Blu-ray is a little pointless without an HDTV to watch it on in most people's minds.
But once HD gains wider market penetration, and the prices on the players and the movie discs come down, yes, Blu-ray probably will eventually take over for DVD sheerly because once people *have* HDTV in their homes, they want HD media to watch on it.
We had the same transition from VHS to DVD. DVDs were ridiculously expensive when they first came out.Do You Think That Blu-rays Are On The Path Of Taking Over DVDs?
I'm pretty sure that soon they are going to take over. Technology enhances very quickly all the time. My dad has a Blu-Ray DVD player, and he and many others think that it is amazing. I'm positive that soon, all DVDs will be blu-ray. But, soon after Blu-ray takes over, something else will too. i'm also sure that DVDs will still be able to be watched and will be watched by many in the world.
well i don't really like Blu-rays, it seams to me that they are the same as DVDs they just are more expensive. i mean you can get all the extra stuff on the internet so you don't really need more than what the DVDs have to offer.Do You Think That Blu-rays Are On The Path Of Taking Over DVDs?
Blu Ray is the future. The cost may be a little much, but when they start going down, people will flock to them. They're great, and will end DVD
Yes, then there will be something to replace Blu-ray.
I know I'll never pay that much money if I can get a DVD for a fraction of the cost.
yes ..and if they didnt cost so much they could already had
