What is the best audio video receiver for the money?

I found out that my receiver is fried. Which one should I purchase? I want to get one that will take care of all the normal dvd players etc, and compatible that might be up and coming soon. ThanksWhat is the best audio video receiver for the money?
The Onkyo TS SR 507 is a really good receiver that has a lot of high tec advanced advantages, at a bargain price... (approx $300) only thing is its only a 5.1 receiver not a 7.1 if you need full 7.1 for the future I would get the Onkyo TS SR607 I can't imagine a receiver being more state of the art as that one at the price it sells for..if you want to go cheaper look at the Sherwood RD 7502, ($200) but don't expect the latest technology. What is the best audio video receiver for the money?
A Yamaha RX-V365 is the bottom of their product line. But, for under $200, it's a great deal. It only has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 output, though. But, that's still full 1080p connectivity and throughput for two components. If you need more, you can get the RX-V465 that has 4 HDMI inputs (and 105 watts per channel, instead of 100 - yip skip). But, that will run you more like $350.

And, you're not going to get 1080p off the cable or satellite. So, you might as well get the 365, run component video and a digital audio cable (coaxial or optical) from the cable/satellite box, and use the HDMI inputs for a Blu Ray DVD player and game console (or get an xBox/PS3 and use that as your Blu Ray player). At least until you feel like you want something a little more high end. But, this little Yamaha will do everything you need it to now and in the near future. What is the best audio video receiver for the money?
This all depends on your personal budget. Pioneer and Onkyo would be the top choice followed by Yamaha. At the higher end Pioneer Elite, Onkyo/Integra, Denon and Yamaha. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the review on receivers. Stay away from the off brand. Hope this will help you out.
I've sold Onkyo, Yamaha, Harmon Kardon, and several other brands. I own a Denon now and I think it sounds better than any brand I've heard. I had a Yamaha hooked up to the same speakers I'm using now and the Denon sounds noticeably better.
