When will Avatar leave theaters?

As much as I would love to see it stay in theaters like forever but Alice in wonderland and clash of the titans will be coming soon. The Dvd will be on april 22. Though, the movie is at #4 on weekend BO and off course, the oscars. So when do you think will avatar leave?When will Avatar leave theaters?
Due to contracts with IMAX, Avatar will no longer be in IMAX-3D after March 4th. It's remarkable that Avatar was allowed to be in IMAX for 2 and a half months. The majority of movies only get to be in IMAX for 2 or 3 weeks. They were lucky Avatar had incredible staying power.



However, if your local theater is doing well and has DLP, they should be showing Avatar in regular 3D even after Alice in Wonderland comes out. It will no longer be shown in regular 3D whenever the ticket sales drop off or it reaches 16 weeks.
They're in the business to make money. It's pulling in over a million per week day. Consider Titanic and all those other top makers. They stayed in 30/40 weeks? Give or take. They tended to end their run into the thousands, sometimes hundreds per day...



My guess would be when they stop making money. With Alice and Clash coming out, it might drop sales considerably, probably April to June.



Hard to predict with it being 3D, though. 3D theaters are much more limited.When will Avatar leave theaters?
Realistically as soon as it starts to loose money. It will vary.



With Alice in Wonderland coming out, that may take it out of some cinemas entirely but other cinemas may keep going with one or two showings until it's not worth holding...
most films leave the cinema for dvd after an adverage of 16 weeks, however alice in wonderland was 13 or 14 weeks cuz disney tried to boycotte the rules.When will Avatar leave theaters?
