I am getting a Mac soon and I have a big prject coming up soon and it needs to be a documentary on a DVD disk. Can you put your movies that you create on iMovie on a DVD disk? I tried it with Windows Media Player and it won't do it.IMovie and converting my movies on to a DVD...?
When you go to export your movie from iMove you will get a choice to burn as many DVDs as you like or want. So your answer is Yes you are able to put your movie on a DVD thats whats so cool about iMovie also you get some pretty good templates to work with.

How to use a laptop as a dvd player in the car?
We have a multi state road trip coming up soon and I wanted to use my laptop as the source for playing dvds in the built in video system while we make our trip.
Due to it being several years old the dvd player that is built into the vehicle has trouble playing the newer dvds that we have but it does have RCA jacks to accept an external source.
Like my vehicle my laptop is also several years old so it doesn't have the s-video jack that would make my life easy lol.
On one side of the laptop I have a composite video-out jack (dunno if that is just video or if it audio and video together)
I also have the classic external monitor conector in the back
as for audio the only output i can see is the earphone jack.
I'll assume that there isn't one converter on the market that i can buy .. but I would like to do this with as few converters as possible

Eric Bischoff didn't agree on any of the crap that they were forcing him to do. On the day that he was going to resign, they fired him.
Vince McMahon is also to blame. When he bought WCW, he killed the company. He basically forced all of the WCW fans to either watch the WWF or quit watching wrestling. This is probably why TNA can't be as successful as it should be. Many of the new generation of fans see the WWE as the prime wrestling company out there, the believe there is no other company.
Even though it was up for sale, WCW was going to go out of business. Eric Bishoff (who had been brought back) and his sponsors were getting ready to buy WCW and keep it running, Vince only beat him to the punch.

Ok, so on my iPod, I have this movies application; it is much like the yahoo movies place. It helps me find movies that are in theaters, tells me where they are, and I can see movies that are coming soon. Well the Cirque Du Freak movie is out, but it is not in any theater... Can anyone explain why? I'm just curious. It will come out on DVD eventually right? THANKS.

We want to show some wedding scenes from movies at the wedding of two friends. However, as we are travelling abroad for the celebration, we'll be organising the presentation and someone else will be bringing the DVDs. Can someone help us prepare and tell us which chapters of these DVDs contain the wedding scene? This is a bit last minute, so we'd appreciate help that comes soon :-)

With the holidays fast approaching. My boyfriend wants one thing for Xmas. He wants a nice digital photo frame. Can someone suggest a affordable ( like $100 or less) Digital Photoframe if possible let me know the link or store.

OK, the low cost ones don't always have sound, play movies or have internal memory (hence you must use a CARD and keep it in the frame).
The Kodak SV series from the 811 up (a bit on the expensive side at over $100) HAS 128M of internal memory (so you can transfer), plays video or movies from your card, with sound, as well a s pictures.
That' the long and the short of it.
The Polaroid for $98 and the one for $70 called something 7 REQUIRE a card and won't play sound or movies.
They will show pictures and are nice.
And on black friday I'll wager EVERYONE will have a digital frame for maybe $60 or even $50
Just remember it has limitations. You need to clone a card with the pictures from your computer or card reader that sends and recieves or you need to use the original camera card.
They generally ALL do transitions.

How do you erase a DVD RW?
How would you erase a dvd re-writable cd? I currently have windows 7 beta on it and i want to wipe it clean so that i can put the new version that is coming out soon on it. It does saw Rw on it (re-writable) but i have no clue how to erase what i have already on it.How do you erase a DVD RW?

Usually an ISO (CD Image) burning program will ask you if you want to format the DVD-RW before burning... I suggest getting CloneCD and using their software to burn the ISO which will also format the DVD-RW.

Usually an ISO (CD Image) burning program will ask you if you want to format the DVD-RW before burning... I suggest getting CloneCD and using their software to burn the ISO which will also format the DVD-RW.
Another suggestion is Alcohol 120%

So far there are 2 seasons that finished, and season 3 is about halfway through (but the next episode is coming out in march because its on hiatus). and according to E! online there will almost definitely be a season 4. The cast signed a 6 year contract, but the show could still cancel before that if they wanted to.
In the episodes so far, the characters are the same. sort of. there have been guest stars and recurring characters (characters that are on the show, and then aren't for a while, and then come back. such as georgina and carter). but all of the main characters were there from the beginning (except for vanessa who appeared in the 6th episode of season one).

I really want to check out "The Streets of San Francisco" DVD to see if the show is any good. However I do not want to buy the whole set for 30 bucks and find out it sucks. Therefore I want to rent it. I currently have Blockbuster online and while they have the show listed, it has been "coming soon" for months now and it is unlikely they will ever stock it. What's the pont of buying a new gadget when an upgraded model will come out soon?
I feel that everytime I buy a hot new gadget, like a few months later, a newer and better one comes out. Like mp3 players, computers, digital cameras, palm pilots, cell phones, dvd players etc. How do you know which model to buy and when to buy them? What do you do if you saw a better model come out?What's the pont of buying a new gadget when an upgraded model will come out soon?
You have "new model syndrome". Sometimes the new model will be a ground-breaking update on what is currently available and people will already be saying they won't put anything out after that for a while.
But when a new model is due (or more so, when it is out), the previous generation drops in price dramatically.
So, if you get 1 new model every month or so %26amp; there's no sign of it stopping any time soon - just buy the -1 generation %26amp; be happy with it.
NOTE: if you are looking at PS2 %26amp; PS3 - I would love tos ay buy the PS3 - but it's going to be damned expensive, AFAIK.

There is no specific release date yet, heck only recently did they release who would be dubbing the three main characters, however since they have released who would be dubbing Zero, Kaname, and Yuuki, I would probably expect Vampire Knight to be coming out around sometime in the summer maybe beginning of fall probably around August or September, maybe if we're lucky July, but I doubt it. I know this isn't much help, sorry, but you'll have to wait just a teensy bit longer.
By the way, here is a link that announces the actors who will be dubbing Zero, Kaname and Yuuki.

(approx $300) only thing is its only a 5.1 receiver not a 7.1 if you need full 7.1 for the future I would get the Onkyo TS SR607 I can't imagine a receiver being more state of the art as that one at the price it sells for..if you want to go cheaper look at the Sherwood RD 7502, ($200) but don't expect the latest technology.What is the best audio video receiver for the money?
A Yamaha RX-V365 is the bottom of their product line. But, for under $200, it's a great deal. It only has 2 HDMI inputs and 1 output, though. But, that's still full 1080p connectivity and throughput for two components. If you need more, you can get the RX-V465 that has 4 HDMI inputs (and 105 watts per channel, instead of 100 - yip skip). But, that will run you more like $350.
And, you're not going to get 1080p off the cable or satellite. So, you might as well get the 365, run component video and a digital audio cable (coaxial or optical) from the cable/satellite box, and use the HDMI inputs for a Blu Ray DVD player and game console (or get an xBox/PS3 and use that as your Blu Ray player). At least until you feel like you want something a little more high end. New PC processors coming out soon?
I am considering getting a new dell pc, as I've always had reasonably good luck with them in the past. I see they have an intel core 2 quad processor chip on the xps systems. I know you can't ever be 100% current with technology, but I've always had the uncanny knack to buy a computer right before a major break in technology takes place, like bought a custom built pentium II, and pentium 4 was almost released by the time I got it. I am using a gen 4 dell xps with a pentium 4 chip with hyper threading. I want a fast computer for surfing the web, downloading movies and music, and some pc games. Is it really that much better than what I currently have? When I bought this PC about 3 years ago, I literally took the highest upgrade in every category. I'm not 100% sure of my specs, but I think I have a 3.2ghz p4 w/ht, 1 gb ram, 2 of the 160 gig 10,000 raptor hard drives, with dual layer dvd burner, etc.
Basically, the computer is acting very funny now (like taking a minimum of three tries of hitting shut down before the computer will actually turn off), and I'd hate to buy a new computer, only to have some major revolution in technology be available soon. Thanks for any advice.

The Nehalem i7 is the new King of the Hill, but the high end Q9XXX chips still hold their own...and they don't need DDR3 RAM. I have a Q9450 and a Q9650...they both work well, but need good aftermarket HSFs.
For my money, I think my next box will be another Q9650...I'll wait for the next round of i7s before I make that move.

i7 cpus will be at the top of a list for at least a year. Depending on your budget, I'd say either get a q9550 or an i7 920.
As others have said the Core i7 is the newest and best processor, though yes, it is a bit pricy(most i7 systems cost at least $1000). Even a Core 2 Duo or Quad will be a huge leap from an old P4.
At certain places you can find XPSs with Core i7s for around $1000 though. Might want to check that out.
However your raptor drives are some of the fastest hard drives around-I'd recommend you wipe them of data and transfer them into your new computer.New PC processors coming out soon?
There's no denying that the Core i7 is the reigning king of processors. In the fall, the i7's little brother, the i5 will be coming out. It's going to be aimed at the mainstream PC market. If early estimates are correct, the price for motherboards will be around $150 with the i5's going for around $200. These components could very well be the next generation of home PC's. No disrespect to AMD, but short of a technological breakthrough, I don't see them offering much competition to Intel's onslaught.
I don't know if you're in a hurry to buy a new system, but if you can wait a few months .............

The Nehalem i7 is the new King of the Hill, but the high end Q9XXX chips still hold their own...and they don't need DDR3 RAM. I have a Q9450 and a Q9650...they both work well, but need good aftermarket HSFs.
For my money, I think my next box will be another Q9650...I'll wait for the next round of i7s before I make that move.

i7 cpus will be at the top of a list for at least a year. Depending on your budget, I'd say either get a q9550 or an i7 920.
As others have said the Core i7 is the newest and best processor, though yes, it is a bit pricy(most i7 systems cost at least $1000). Even a Core 2 Duo or Quad will be a huge leap from an old P4.
At certain places you can find XPSs with Core i7s for around $1000 though. Might want to check that out.
However your raptor drives are some of the fastest hard drives around-I'd recommend you wipe them of data and transfer them into your new computer.New PC processors coming out soon?
There's no denying that the Core i7 is the reigning king of processors. In the fall, the i7's little brother, the i5 will be coming out. It's going to be aimed at the mainstream PC market. If early estimates are correct, the price for motherboards will be around $150 with the i5's going for around $200. These components could very well be the next generation of home PC's. No disrespect to AMD, but short of a technological breakthrough, I don't see them offering much competition to Intel's onslaught.
I don't know if you're in a hurry to buy a new system, but if you can wait a few months .............

Help me decide dvd drive -- too many options and choices?
I need an internal dvd drive specifically for burning videos and data, but I am always indecisive when there are so many options and brands out there. It also seems like newer models with faster speeds are getting pushed out in the market every couple months. Lightscribe isn't important, but would be nice to have. Dual Layer writing is important, but I'm sure most drives have switched to this option as a standard.
My questions are..
1. Will any internal drive work for me, or will I need to find a specific size? (I have a gateway desktop with a 5.25 inch drive bay)
2. Which brand is more economical? (I've heard LiteOn, Samsung as among the leaders.. what about Memorex?)
3. If I bought a 16x dvd-r writable speed drive today, how long do you think before that becomes obsolete? I already see 18x models out, and 20x coming soon.
I might have answered all my questions, but I would appreciate any comments and suggestions to aid me toward my purchase.

I would like to buy a quality core i5 or i7 laptop for under 1000 dollars.
Here is the list of things that I definitely want... core i5 or better, 15 in diagonal or more, no more than 7 lbs., 3+ gb ram, better than average graphics card, DVD read and write, 350+ GB hard drive, built in webcam, wifi, 3+ USB 2.0 ports, 1+ HDMI port, Win 7 OS, bluetooth
The Samsung r580 has all this except for the bluetooth built in which I could live without. Plus it has a Blu-Ray drive, one more USB/eSata port, 4 GB ram, 500 GB hard drive
The cost of the r580 at best buy right now is $830.
Based on my research I believe this is the best bang for my buck for a sub $1000 laptop right now.
What I'm not sure of is how soon other good core i5 laptops are coming out and whether or not they'll be able to compete in specs and pricing.
I know the ULV i5 processors are coming out in June. These will be nice since they'll increase the battery life of powerful laptops. Does anyone know how much this will likely add to the cost of the laptops they are in?

i bought my laptop 2 months before i3/i5/i7 came out. had i waited i would have got an i5 for just 80拢 (relatevily speaking) extra. if you dont need the laptop badly wait for a bit. rumour has it they will upgrade the line of i7 laptop procesrs early next year, apparently.
by the way some blu ray drives cant play dvds fast enough( if u have dvd games,may be a problem).
just like wiht any technology if the components dont improve you can at least save yourself a bit of cash :)

BLACK HAWK DOWN!! The remastered edition of Black Hawk Down is jaw-dropping in my opinion. Even the original version was had great sound, but the remastered edition takes it to the next level. Also, it's a good movie in general, very action-packed and also very moving.
Black Hawk Down isn't in high def, however, it's one of the most impressive war movies I've seen since Saving Private Ryan as far as sound and picture go.

A few from 2004,05.
Royal Rumble 09 %26amp; Summerslam 09
WrestleMania 26 %26amp; 27 (Both on blu-ray)
Shawn Michaels - 3disc my journey
The Rock - Most electrifying man 3 disc
The Hart Foundation 3 disc
I have the Chris Jericho 3 dvd coming any time soon which I got for ￡10
Also I have the Royal Rumble 2011 on bluray coming.
Can anyone recommend any PPV's to me.

I liked Edge's and Eddie Guerrero's 3 disk sets the most. Both of Shawn Michaels' are great too, and Heartbreak and Triumph.

Undertaker Deadliest Matches. But there's not many Kane vs Taker matches on it,so I was a little disappointed. You can get Best Of Raw and Smackdown DVD's also,from different years. Try on Amazon,as you'll find a lot of old videos and DVD's that are cheap.

A D.S. Is made for kids. Not verry well made not alot of things you can do with it.
Ipod, sorry never really got the point to these things. Yea they play mp3... So? There are many MP3 players out there that can do the same thing if not better.

My boyfriend just bought on a few weeks ago and his birthday is coming up soon. I've been reading and some forums suggest to purchase an upconverting dvd player. Why do so many people not like blu ray?
everyone i know practical hates blu ray, in my opinion blu ray is going to replace dvd but whenever i tell someone that they think that im crazy but if you think about it there are some similar things happening that happened with tapes what i mean is i have some movies on tapes like mulan, lelo and stitch, etc and on some of the tapes the commercials for movies that have already come out say, coming soon to video and dvd, and then soon after they stopped making movies on tapes well now Guess what is happening they say, coming soon to dvd and blu ray, doesn't anyone see the pattern here?Why do so many people not like blu ray?

* Sony did sleezy back-room tactics to get studios to abandon the cheaper, simpler and open-source HD-DVD format.
* As soon as the last studio gave up on HD-DVD, Sony raised prices and announced new features to force early customers to re-buy.
* Sony has deliberately held back titles and counts from rental stores to force consumers to buy BluRay disks. Netflix, Block Buster, RedBox, etc - are all suffering because Sony manipulates quantities on new releases.
* The version of Java on BluRay was so poorly specified and written you need to do almost monthly updates to your players firmware to fix the problems.
So my gripes are NOT about the format - but about the un-ethical way competition was put out of business and we are now being manipulated.

It's actually good because it's lossless audio and video as opposed to DVD which is compressed.

Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD master audio is lossless, uncompressed audio. You can't get any better than that. Blu-Ray can't be beaten. It's the best you can do.Why do so many people not like blu ray?

If you look when dvd first came out, the price is the same as the blu ray disc now. Laser Disc movie in which I have 1,000 in my collection stated at the $34.95 price. You don't see many new dvd players being sold in store from name brand companies. Yes, sooner or later the dvd will be like the laser disc on the side.
IMO most people who "hate" blu-ray either don't understand that the picture is better, or that they have a "large" DVD collection and don't want to re-buy all their movies. I've owned many movies on tape, laser disc, DVD, and now blu-ray (and a few on HD-DVD). I have newer TVs and love the picture quality of High DefinitionWhy do so many people not like blu ray?

So, they don't see why they should shell out $30 to $40 for a Blu Ray disk - especially to replace their entire DVD collection - when the difference between the two is minimal.
When buying a new disk player, however, it's a no-brainer to get a Blu Ray player. It can play the Blu Ray disks in full 1080p HD, and it can play all formats of DVD disks and even music CDs. The consumer can then choose whether he wants to just get a new DVD or splurge and get a Blu Ray version of a new movie.

but, windows dvd maker accidentally got deleted from the program files of my windows vista.
is there ANY way i could possibly recover this program?
